How it works

Extensive study library

Course Hero organizes millions of uploaded documents — study notes, lab reports, essay examples and past exams — by school, course and instructor when available. Students search or browse to find materials tailored to specific classes; the library is the core product and often used to preview how peers answered assignments or to compare approaches to similar problems.

Subscription access model

Most of Course Hero’s content is behind a subscription. Paid plans unlock unlimited document views, solution access and priority tutor requests. There are monthly and longer-term plans, plus occasional trials or promos. Free users can preview limited content or earn unlocks by contributing documents and answering questions in the community, but full access requires an active membership.

Tutors and study tools

Course Hero complements documents with 24/7 tutoring and interactive tools: ask a question and get step‑by‑step answers, use flashcards for memorization, or review textbook solutions. Tutors provide one‑on‑one support for specific problems; response times vary by plan. These tools are designed to supplement classroom learning and help prep for exams and assignments.
